Yes, while photography is not boring, cameras as a subject kinda are. I mean sure, gear can be interesting to talk about in a way, and I am guilty of doing that as well, but in general it is kinda boring.
In general all cameras today are great, and maybe technically nearly too good. I guess that is depending a little bit on what camera brand you are using. Sony for example is probably at the front of what’s technically possible to do at the moment, but to me they are the most boring cameras of them all. Fujifilm that I use, while being great, not as technically perfect as Sony cameras are, but they are on the other hand fun and inspiring to use. For the act of actually doing photography, to me the later definitely wins. I’m not saying that you can’t have fun with Sony cameras, we’re all different and appreciate different things.
